Since 1995 "VM i Kubb" (Kubb World Championship) is arranged on Rone IP (Gotland/Sweden). In 2004 there were 168 teams (of 6 members) in the competition from 11 different countries.

Kubb World Championship is open for all teams that wish to participate. A team consists of at least 6 members. The teams are not divided into different classes - one class for all. The competition is started with group heats followed by a final. Those teams that do not reach the final can start over in a consolation tournament called "Little World Championship". The competition is held at the beginning of August every year.
